Few would disagree that Gospel Oak is the bit of NW5 that’s all too often forgotten. And yet, within its diverse community, creativity has long thrived.
Inside our March issue, out today and free as ever, we take a look at a handful of people doing interesting things.
First off are local makers Sian Pattenden and Pandora Vaughan, back with their Grrrr! Gallery, which inhabited a derelict Malden Road outlet last summer (and became famous for its anti-Brexit biscuits). They launch a new three-month show from a bigger unit off Queen’s Crescent this month – not to mention some more custard-creams-in-resin celebrating Gospel Oak itself.
We also profile other creative types in the area, including DJ-producer George Demure, tapestry queen the Mighty Stitch and the curious Spirit House pop-up on Malden Road.
Elsewhere we preview the new Amy Winehouse exhibition and street art trail, try the mysterious art of quantum touch, eat at the Gipsy Queen and Crepes A La Carte, and step back in time for the scandal of Highgate Road Chapel. Phew. Grab a copy from the outlets below.
