Tenner Or Less: The Bowler, Camden Market

Balls, balls – and more balls at this acclaimed food truck

The Bowler
A friendly streetfood truck on the cobbles: The Bowler
Where? Over in Camden Stables Market, near Cyberdog, the reinvented cobbled space is being filled with some fine new stalls and streetfood trucks. A bit further on is the new Voodoo Ray’s too.

What? A box of veggie – chickpea, ricotta and spinach to be precise – balls, with spiced tomato sauce, cumin sour cream, and flat leaf parsley. Utterly delicious – and pretty filling with the wild rice (£6-£7.50, medium or large).

Why? Founded by ex-media dude Jez Felwick, it’s a Covent Garden institution. With a proper shop an’ that. They serve food from what they cutely call the Lawn Ranger and even have a tome out called, er, The Bowler’s Meatball Cookbook. And the food is light, zingy and very healthy.

Don’t: Forget there are tender chicken, beef and pork meatballs too, plus chips. The green chilli chicken in a Thai coconut sauce is a corker, and comes with sticky chilli jam.
